We are pleased to announce that Terry Magnuson (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) will be the 2018 GSA Vice-President and 2019 President. Three new Directors were also elected: Kirsten Bomblies (John Innes Centre), Cassandra Extavour (Harvard University), and Matt Hahn (Indiana University Bloomington). | A few updates from GSA’s Early Career Scientist Leaders: Heath Blackmon, Trainee Advisory Representative to the GSA Board of Directors, has taken up an assistant professor appointment at Texas A&M University. Aleeza Gerstein, member of the Communication and Outreach Subcommittee, has been appointed to a Community Advisory Committee for the City of Winnipeg. Caitlin McDonough, Co-Chair of the Career Development Subcommittee, will represent the GSA and give opening remarks at the “Cracking the Repetitive DNA Code” GSA Career Development Symposium this Friday October 27. |
